MY THANKS AND APPEAL TO YOU…

      As our economy is fluctuating, we want to say many thanks (Muchas Gracias!) for your continued faithfulness in giving to CHET whether by cash, check, PayPal, stock gift, gifts in kind, or the resource of your time and talents. It is an investment in our Latino students as they develop their spiritual capital and ministry gifts in order to impact our world for Christ. Many of our students have been especially hard-hit by the economic situation we all face.  CHET itself draws some of its support from a small endowment fund, which has been impacted, and thus, has decreased our available resources.

     Earlier in the year, President Bush approved a package which provided an economic stimulus check to many of us. Have you thought how you might contribute to the Good News/Gospel stimulus in the Kingdom of God by tithing your stimulus check to CHET?  If each person/family reading this message could tithe their stimulus check to CHET, we would be able to weather this economic storm.  And if you can't or didn't receive a check to tithe, thank you for offering what you can to our ministry, especially your prayers.

CHET is making a difference!

    With your investment in the CHET ministry, despite the challenge of classroom space and staff shortages, CHET continues to prepare men and women to be servant-leaders within the Evangelical CovenantChurch, as well as for the wider Church Community.

     The Evangelical Covenant Church is growing church in numbers, mission and ethnic diversity.  Our church is at the cutting edge of reaching our whole mission field for Christ. CHET is at the center of this huge opportunity and in fact is absolutely critical to being what the Covenant wants to be.

    CHET needs your investment to train pastors for the churches we need to plant to be faithful to the mission field God has placed before us.

    CHET needs your investment to train lay workers to make the Hispanic church strong and healthy and to equip Hispanic people for lives in Christ.

    CHET needs your investment to remain a leader in the whole field of vibrant mission in and out of the Hispanic Community.

    CHET needs your investment.  Many of the people we minister to are at the margins of society.  If we are going to equip them for ministry it takes a significant amount of support.  This is true of every institution of higher education – but particularly true of CHET in its ministry context.

I would again ask that you prayerfully think about giving to CHET.
